A friend of mine used to work in an autoshop, and on the back wall there was a large poster which said:

“If it doesn’t work, it’s the electrics!”

Auto electrics are notoriously intimidating for the average DIY mechanic, and likewise, the Windows Registry is equally daunting. It may be possible to say:

“If it doesn’t work, or it’s too slow, it’s the Registry!”
